Dr. Adrienne Leversedge

Dr. Adrienne Leversedge graduated from WCVM in 1991. She has been with us since 1996 and is passionate about delivering the highest standard of care to all of her patients. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. During her time away from the clinic she relaxes by spending time with her family (one husband, one daughter, five cats and two dogs), sewing, walking, reading and travelling.

Dr. Maria Sung

Dr. Maria Sung has worked at the Capilano clinic since graduating from WCVM in 2010.  She enjoys working with cats and dogs as well as exotic species. Her passion is found working with birds.  Enthusiastic and friendly, Maria is a welcome addition to our family.

Office Management & Reception

Tina Shewchuk

Tina Shewchuk currently holds the position of Veterinary Hospital Administrator. She has been the authority of all business functions and operations, acted as a supervising agent for hospital services and personnel, as well as establishing budgets and projections for growth. Tina has successfully managed the noteworthy growth of both locations of the Ottewell Animal Clinic Ltd. for 14 years. Graduating with honors as a legal assistant in 1991, Tina went to work in engineering for Fluor Daniel until 1997 at which time she started working for the Ottewell Animal Clinic. In 2005 she successfully completed a 2 year Veterinary Hospital Managers program from St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario.

Laurie

Laurie graduated from NAIT as an Animal Health Technologist in 2002. She has been working at Capilano Animal Clinic since April 2013. Over the years she has worked with many types of animals (large or small, she loves them all), but has a soft spot for cats. When she is not at work, Laurie spends her time with her husband and son, as well as her cat “Alabama”, her fish “Fynn and Little Timmie”, and her puppy “Marsellus”.

Technologists

Erin A.

Erin graduated from Fairview College in 2002, and worked in mixed animal practice for 2 years before heading over to England and Scotland to live and work. Since her return, she has worked in a few practices in the Edmonton area, but wanted a smaller practice and settled here at Capilano. Erin shares her house with a princess mini-dachshund, “Mercedes”, who is lucky to be able to go everywhere with Erin, including kayaking in the summer. Erin keeps busy in her spare time with her family, including four nephews and two nieces, her volunteering with Humane Animal Rescue Team, and photography.

Cynthia

Cynthia has been quietly lurking at the two clinics since 2001. She loves the variety of her job and getting to work with all the different kinds of animals we see here. Her ‘at home’ animals include: two cats, a newt, a husband and two children. For fun, Cynthia likes to melt glass, surf the net, and research her genealogy.

Leanne

Leanne started working with us in 2009 as an AHT. She graduated from SAIT/Old’s college in 1996. Over the years she’s worked with all kinds of small animals, reptiles and pocket pets, with her favorite being sugar gliders. Her active family consists of her husband, 2 kids, and “Whiskers” the tuxedo domestic long hair.

Katie

Katie is a recent Animal Health Technology graduate. She completed her practicum placement at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Edmonton, and the Vancouver Aquarium during the spring of 2016. She has a keen interest in feline and exotic animal medicine, and loves all aspects of small animal dentistry. She enjoys art, history, being outdoors, and spending time with her cats whenever she has the chance.

Kennel Staff

Founders & Partners

Our clinic, and the Ottewell Animal Clinic, were originally founded by Dr. Augustine Kolodej, a man who our longest standing clients still remember as a kind and generous man. Dr. Milton Ness became a partner, and then sole owner of the clinics, until his sad and untimely passing in 2014. Milt’s influence is still evident at Ottewell today. His excitement for his profession and vision for the future, his focus on family, and his passion for animal advocacy all helped shape the clinic into what it is today. We continue to miss his drop in visits when he always had some funny story or crazy pictures to share. He was a mentor and good friend.
